Weather Variables Affecting the Behaviour of Insect Flower Visitors and Main Pollinators of Erythroxylum myrsinites Martius (Erythroxylaceae)

Basic research assessing environmental effects on entire pollinator communities are still uncommon, particularly for rare and commercially unattractive plant-pollinator partners. We investigated the community of flower visitors Erythroxylum myrsinites to check potential pollinators extent weather influence visitor behaviour, registered as number attending flowers E. myrsinites. then calculated species’ dominance constancy assessed location pollen attachment in each visitor’s body. correlated variables with composition abundance visits carried out by most constant dominant species. The wasps Polybia sericea, P. ignobilis fastidiosuscula showed highest values constancy, attached pollen. There was a community-level effect atmospheric pressure, solar radiation wind speed visits. Atmospheric pressure affected eudominant species while ignobilis. Our results demonstrate visiting insects suggest importance native transport pollination, relationship that should be further studied under worldwide bee pollination decline.
